Metal Roofs
EcoProof can be applied directly over existing metal and IBR roofing, sealing lap joints, screw penetrations and rust spots without stripping and replacing the roof. The system:
- Requires no fleeces or primers
- Is quick and easy to install
- Comfortably accommodates the movement of the structure
Why waterproof a metal roof instead of replacing it?
Metal roofs expand and contract with temperature, which opens up laps and fixings over time. A seamless, fully bonded liquid membrane has no joints for water to find and flexes with the roof. It is also a cost-effective alternative to re-roofing, and the system needs no flames or solvents.
Metal roof waterproofing: common questions
Can metal and IBR roofs be waterproofed?
Yes. A liquid system can be applied over existing metal or IBR sheeting, provided the surface is structurally sound, clean and free of loose material.
Does the roof need to be replaced first?
Not usually. Waterproofing is often a far more affordable option than replacing the sheeting, unless the roof is structurally unsound.
How long does it take to cure?
Depending on the application method, the surface cures instantly (spray applied) or within about 4 hours (brush and roller), depending on the weather.
