Traditional Flat roofs
EcoProof is a liquid-applied waterproofing system that forms one fully bonded, seamless membrane over a flat roof. It is suitable for even the most difficult roof surfaces, including:
- Old felt
- Asphalt
- Timber deck
- Concrete
- Insulation
- Boards
Why use a liquid system on a flat roof?
EcoProof is an improvement on roofing felt, asphalt, bitumen and other liquid coatings. The system needs no flames, solvents or primers, has no joints and is a cost-effective alternative to re-roofing. Because it is applied wet and cures into one continuous surface, it seals cleanly around drains, upstands, vents and other penetrations.
How it is applied
Depending on the size and design of the project, EcoProof can be spray applied (the surface cures instantly) or applied by brush and roller (the surface cures within about 4 hours, depending on weather). The spray grade system can cover up to 800 m² per day, while the brush and roller grade is used to waterproof the intricate detailing.
Signs your flat roof needs attention
- Damp patches or discolouration on ceilings
- Visible cracks in the concrete or in gutters
- Bubbling or peeling paint
- Water that pools for more than a day or two after rain

Flat roof waterproofing: common questions
Can a flat roof be waterproofed without removing the old surface?
In most cases, yes. A liquid system can usually be applied over an existing surface as long as it is structurally sound, clean and free of loose material. If the old membrane is failing or trapping moisture underneath, it needs to come off first. We assess this during the inspection.
How long does flat roof waterproofing last?
A professionally installed, quality liquid system typically lasts 10 to 15 years or more, depending on the product, application quality and UV exposure.
How much does it cost?
Cost depends on the surface area, the system used, roof complexity and its current condition. We give a free, no-obligation quote after inspecting the roof.
